JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Just a day after the Israeli Supreme Court ruled that the firing of Shin Bet director Ronen Bar was illegal and after the Attorney General directed Prime Minister Netanyahu not to be involved in the appointment of a new  head of Shin Bet, Netanyahu decided to ignore the directive. On Thursday evening, […]

Sales of previously occupied U.S. homes fell in April, as elevated mortgage rates and rising prices discouraged prospective homebuyers during what’s traditionally the busiest time of the year for the housing market. Existing home sales dropped 0.5% last month, from March, to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4 million units, the National Association of Realtors said Thursday. The sales decline marks the slowest sales pace for the month of April going back to 2009 in the wake of the U.S. housing crisis. March’s sales pace was also the slowest for that month going back to 2009. Sales fell 2% compared with April last year. The latest home sales fell slightly short of the 4.10 million pace economists were expecting, according to FactSet.

IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a message on Thursday directed at the population of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, cautioning them about Hamas operations being carried out in civilian areas of their city.
Adraee’s post included the statement: “This is a warning about Hamas elements hiding among you!” Alongside his warning, he shared an aerial photo highlighting specific sites that the IDF says are being used by Hamas fighters.
He stated that the image illustrates the way Hamas operatives embed themselves in densely populated civilian areas, relying on infrastructure meant for public use while conducting terrorist activities.

“Last night in Washington something horrific happened. A brutal terrorist shot in cold blood a young beautiful couple – Yaron Lischinsky and Sara Milgrim. Yaron had just bought an engagement ring for Sarah. He was planning to give it to her in Jerusalem next week. They were planning to start a new and happy life together. Well, that tragically did not happen. Yaron and Sarah weren’t the victims of a random crime. The terrorist who cruelly gunned them down did so for one reason and one reason alone – he wanted to kill Jews. And as he was taken away, he chanted, ‘Free Palestine!’ This is exactly the same chant we heard on October 7th. On that day, thousands of terrorists stormed into Israel from Gaza. They beheaded men. They raped women. They burned babies alive.

JUST IN: PM Bibi Netanyahu says he has appointed Maj. Gen. David Zini as the next Shin Bet chief. Zini currently serves as the head of the IDF Training Command and General Staff Corps. He has also been responsible for advancing the draft of Haredi soldiers to the military.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday evening appointed a new Shin Bet chief, ignoring Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara’s directive on Wednesday banning him from being involved in the appointment. Netanyahu announced his intention to appoint Maj.-Gen. David Zini to the position, replacing Bar, who is scheduled to resign on June 15. “Zini has served in many operational and command positions in the IDF, including as a fighter in the Sayeret Matkal commando unit, commander of Battalion 51 in the Golani Brigade, commander of the Egoz unit, commander of the Alexandroni Brigade, founder of the Commando Brigade, and commander of the Training and Doctrine Command and commander of the General Staff Corps,” the Prime Minister’s office said.

The grieving father of a young woman who was murdered along with her partner outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, revealed that his daughter had devoted herself to fostering Israeli-Palestinian cooperation and expanding humanitarian efforts to Gaza — only to be slain by a man who allegedly shouted “Free, free Palestine” after opening fire.
Robert Milgrim, 73, expressed outrage over what he described as the deeply antisemitic nature of the attack carried out by suspect Elias Rodriguez, calling it especially disturbing given that his daughter, Sarah Milgrim, 26, was committed to easing the plight of Palestinians.

The Senate voted on Thursday to block California’s first-in-the nation rule banning the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035, acting to kill the nation’s most aggressive effort to transition toward electric vehicles as President Donald Trump’s administration has doubled down on fossil fuels. The resolution approved by the Senate goes to the White House, where Trump is expected to sign it, along with two other measures blocking California’s rules that the Senate is poised to pass. The House approved the three resolutions earlier this month. The GOP effort to kill the rules could have a profound impact on California’s longtime efforts to curb air pollution.

BREAKING: The Trump administration on Thursday has blocked Harvard University from enrolling international students.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has spotlighted four major contributors to the dramatic rise in chronic illnesses among children in a striking new report issued Thursday — the first major policy move under President Trump’s initiative to address what the administration calls a growing public health emergency affecting nearly 40% of the country’s youth.
According to the report, a combination of harmful food habits, exposure to industrial toxins, insufficient physical activity, and excessive reliance on pharmaceuticals are fueling a surge in long-term health conditions — such as obesity, autism spectrum disorders, cancers, psychological disorders, and allergic reactions. “The health of American children is in crisis,” the commission warned.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says President Trump is a monster. Someone should remind this racist that his approval rating was recently 6.6% approval with a staggering 80% disapproval rating. One of the lowest of any elected official in U.S. history.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) viciously attacked President Trump on Wednesday, calling him a “monster” after the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced a probe into the city’s hiring practices for potential racial bias. The investigation follows Johnson’s recent comments at a church in Woodlawn, Ill., where he boasted about hiring more Black people in his administration. “As far as, you know, the president’s animus towards women, people of color, working people, we have always known who he has been,” Johnson said during a Wednesday press conference. “This is not a surprise. He’s a monster.” “We have the most diverse administration in the history of Chicago, and he is threatened by that,” he added. Johnson’s approval rating, however, tells a different story.
