IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a message on Thursday directed at the population of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, cautioning them about Hamas operations being carried out in civilian areas of their city.
Adraee’s post included the statement: “This is a warning about Hamas elements hiding among you!” Alongside his warning, he shared an aerial photo highlighting specific sites that the IDF says are being used by Hamas fighters.
He stated that the image illustrates the way Hamas operatives embed themselves in densely populated civilian areas, relying on infrastructure meant for public use while conducting terrorist activities.
The image pointed to four particular locations—a university, a mosque, a hospital, and the Deir al-Balah municipal building—where, according to Israeli military intelligence, high-ranking Hamas leaders are currently stationed, including a commander linked to the Nukhba force.
Adraee emphasized that Hamas is taking advantage of local infrastructure and the resources of ordinary residents to support its terror campaigns. “We call upon you to expel the terrorist elements from among you and to stay away from the Hamas structures that are near you.”
