Senator John Fetterman is pushing back against claims made in a recent article questioning his mental health, rejecting the story as false and politically motivated. The Pennsylvania senator was responding to allegations made by his former chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, who reportedly expressed concern about Fetterman’s condition following the serious stroke he suffered in May 2022. According to New York Magazine, Jentleson wrote in a detailed email, “I think John is on a bad trajectory, and I’m really worried about him.”
Fetterman countered the claims in a statement to NBC News correspondent Kate Santaliz, dismissing the report outright. In a video Santaliz posted on X, Fetterman said: “It’s a one-source story with a couple of anonymous sources, a hit piece from a very left publication. There’s really nothing more to say about that.”
Santaliz also noted that one of the individuals cited by New York Magazine alleged that the senator was no longer adhering to his medication regimen. Addressing that point directly, Fetterman reiterated: “Again… a hit piece, anonymous source,” just before the video cut off.
The article in question pointed to comments from individuals who claimed Fetterman had been prescribed medication for depression but occasionally told others that he felt so well he didn’t “need” to take it.
