The condition of HaGaon Rav Nissim Karelitz, who was hospitalized Thursday at Bnei Brak’s Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center, improved over Shabbos.
Earlier this week, Rav Nissim, 92, suffered blood pressure issues and shortness of breath. He spent the last day of Pesach in the hospital’s intensive care unit surrounded by hospital staff, family members, and others close to him.
Sources close to Rabbi Karelitz said they hope he will be released home Sunday.
The public is asked to pray for Rav Shmaryahu Yosef Nissim ben Basya.

Tonight is known in many circles as “Rumpelnacht,” as the post-Pesach cleanup gets underway. With pots, pans and dishes all over the place and kitchenware being moved from here to there, the name “Rumpelnacht” has been found appropriate by some to describe the hectic atmosphere.
So as you “turn back over” from Pesach to chometz, we at Matzav.com wish you bracha and hatzlacha and all the best to your families and loved ones.
We also wish you the customary Motzoei Pesach blessing of “ah gutten zummer” and pray for only the best for all members of Klal Yisroel across the globe.
Next year in Yerushalayim, be’ezras Hashem.

Matzav.com has learned that shoppers at a number of kosher supermarkets in the tri-state area and beyond have unwittingly purchased – and consumed – kitniyos, not realizing that the items they bought contained ingredients not eaten by Ashkenazim on Pesach.
Kitniyos means legumes, but on Pesach the term takes on a broader meaning to include grains and seeds such as rice, corn, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, soybeans, peas, and lentils, in addition to legumes.

Borough Park, Brooklyn – In news that is sure to excite the community, editors have announced the launch of a new Yiddish periodical titled Boro Park B’vinyana, a magazine which will offer in-depth insight and information behind the latest building projects undertaken by Mosdos and Shuls in the neighborhood.
In recent years, our area has seen explosive growth and nowhere is this more apparent than in the building of many new magnificent shuls and school buildings which dot the entire neighborhood. But as we know, growth also means growing pains, and the construction process can be a frustrating one for neighbors and drivers. Additionally, new buildings sometimes change the nature of a block or street corner, something which is often unappealing to longterm residents.

Tens of thousands of Yidden attended a mass Birkas Kohanim this morning at the Kosel. The large Birkas Kohanim is held every Chol Hamoed and draws tremendous crowds.
The entire Old City of Yerushalayim was closed to vehicles as thousands streamed by foot and via bus to the Kosel. Some had davened Shacharis elsewhere, while others took part at minyanim at the Kosel.
All joined together for the central Birkas Kohanim, with the Kosel chazzan calling out the bracha over a microphone. Hundreds of kohanim gathered at the front of the minyan, right by the Kosel, to bentch their fellow Yidden.
