President Donald Trump once again referred to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer as “a Palestinian,” repeating the label in response to questions about a $400 million aircraft offered by Qatar.
On Tuesday, Trump justified his decision to accept the Qatar-funded Boeing 747 as a temporary replacement for Air Force One, describing it as a financially responsible move that benefits the country. He also criticized those opposing the idea, calling them “fools.”
In contrast, Schumer announced he will block all Department of Justice appointments from proceeding in the Senate until he receives further clarification on the matter. According to him, the arrangement “is not just naked corruption, it is also a grave national security threat.”
Speaking aboard Air Force One while en route to Qatar, Trump told reporters, “Schumer, you know, he’s become a Palestinian,” according to a White House press pool account cited by Newsweek on Wednesday.
“There’s something wrong with him. You know, I’ve known him a long time and there’s something wrong. He’s lost his confidence, totally. There’s just something wrong. I don’t know what it is with Schumer,” Trump added, expressing concern over the senator’s recent behavior.
Back in March, Politico reported that Trump had previously labeled Schumer a “Palestinian” while addressing Republican budget priorities and defending his position on corporate taxes.
“Schumer is a Palestinian, as far as I’m concerned,” Trump stated during a meeting in the Oval Office with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin. “He’s become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He’s not Jewish anymore.”
Later on Tuesday evening, Trump posted a lengthy defense of the jet deal on his Truth Social platform.
“The Boeing 747 is being given to the United States Air Force/Department of Defense, NOT TO ME! It is a gift from a Nation, Qatar, that we have successfully defended for many years,” Trump wrote. “It will be used by our Government as a temporary Air Force One, until such time as our new Boeings, which are very late on delivery, arrive.
“Why should our military, and therefore our taxpayers, be forced to pay hundreds of millions of Dollars when they can get it for FREE from a country that wants to reward us for a job well done. This big savings will be spent, instead, to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Only a FOOL would not accept this gift on behalf of our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Meanwhile, Schumer has demanded answers from Attorney General Pam Bondi and the administration about whether Qatari government agents may be conducting activities in the U.S. to benefit Trump or his financial interests. He is also seeking clarification on security upgrades to the aircraft, as well as specifics on who will pay for the modifications and how they will be carried out.
