According to a report published by the Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat, Hamas is grappling with a deepening financial crisis as its war with Israel continues to rage throughout Gaza.
Insiders within the organization disclosed that Hamas is finding it increasingly difficult to meet payroll obligations—not just for its civilian government employees, but also for operatives in its armed forces and personnel in various affiliated branches.
The sources further noted that the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the group’s military arm, have gone nearly three months without paying their fighters. In addition to unpaid wages, they are also struggling to obtain vital equipment needed for ongoing combat operations.
