Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed satisfaction with the progress being made in discussions between the United States and Iran regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions during a phone call with President Donald Trump, according to Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov. Putin also indicated that Russia would be willing to contribute to the efforts, Ushakov noted.
During the same call, Putin praised Trump’s recent visit to the Middle East, highlighting what he viewed as positive outcomes from the trip.
The conversation between the two leaders lasted for approximately two hours, with much of the discussion centered on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Following the call, President Trump shared that peace talks between Russia and Ukraine were set to begin right away. “Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War,” Trump posted on Truth Social. He also said that the “tone and spirit of the conversation were excellent.”
