On Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu revealed his selection for the new head of the Israel Security Agency, naming Major General David Zini as the individual chosen to lead the Shin Bet.
Zini brings with him an extensive military background, having held numerous high-level roles within the Israel Defense Forces. His experience includes serving as a commando in the prestigious Sayeret Matkal unit, leading the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade, commanding the Egoz reconnaissance unit, overseeing the Alexandroni Brigade, establishing and heading the IDF’s Commando Brigade, running the Education and Training Division, and directing the General Staff Corps.
Prime Minister Netanyahu also notified IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir of his decision to appoint Zini to this critical security post.
