Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein joined yeshiva leaders and administrators in a meeting to thank State Senate candidate Sam Sutton for his critical contributions to a bill supporting yeshiva education. The gathering focused on the legislation’s importance, which aims to bolster and protect a proud and esteemed education system within the yeshiva community—a priority for many stakeholders. Eichenstein, participating via Zoom from Albany, emphasized Sam Sutton’s collaborative efforts that helped drive the bill’s success. Sutton’s role was a focal point of the discussion. Assemblyman Eichenstein praised his leadership, stating, “Sam’s efforts have been invaluable.” He noted that Sutton had made a substantial impact even before any potential election as senator, highlighting how Sutton’s work bridged political and educational spheres to ensure the bill’s passage. Eichenstein typically does not endorse candidates in political elections, focusing instead on passing legislation for the community’s betterment. However, he stressed that this election is significant, as Mr. Sutton has already worked on behalf of the community and will continue to do so from within government. Therefore, Eichenstein urged the community to strongly support Sam Sutton in his current run for State Senate. Eichenstein framed the bill as a means of “preserving our identity and ensuring our children receive the education they deserve.” The concise yet impactful meeting underscored the power of unity, laying a foundation for continued cooperation between community leaders and policymakers. Attending the meeting were administrators from Satmar, Bobov, Belz, Viznitz, Rachmstrivka, Bobov-45, Satmar, Klauzenberg, Bnos Chaya, Skver and others. (YWN World Headquarters – NYC)
