Disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo expected his state police drivers to get him to places “very quickly” — and at speeds of up to 80 mph on Manhattan’s FDR Drive, according to the female trooper who accused him of harassment.
The unidentified trooper testified that Cuomo never explicitly told anyone to exceed the speed limit but added that “you know what’s expected of you” and that it was “kind of like an unwritten rule,” according to a transcript released Wednesday by Attorney General Letitia James.
“When you drive the governor, it’s kind of like you’re bobbing and weaving through cars because you don’t want anyone passing you,” the trooper said.
“And he wants to get where he wants to go very quickly.”

A New Mexico man was arrested on Tuesday after border patrol officers discovered 67 illegal immigrants concealed in the rear compartment of a box truck he was driving in west Texas.
Javier Duarte, a 22-year-old who lives in Las Cruces, was allegedly driving the white box truck on Tuesday near Alpine, Texas when he stopped at a checkpoint on Highway 118.
A K-9 alerted to the presence of concealed humans and officers subsequently found the migrants, who were from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
They were hidden behind two wooden walls that were drilled into the truck with metal brackets. Photos of the truck showed migrants in a tight space behind plywood with two small fans.

In an apparent last-ditch attempt to convince workers to vote against a union campaign at three Starbucks stores in the Buffalo area, Howard Schultz, the company’s former CEO and largest shareholder, gave a speech to workers that drew parallels between working at his company and the experiences of prisoners in rail cars headed to Nazi concentration camps in Poland and Germany.
Schultz noted that in the rail cars, only a few prisoners received blankets and had to share them with five people. Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, told Schultz the story on a trip to Israel and said that Schultz should share his blanket, he said.
