More than two months before the phone call that launched the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, Ukraine’s newly elected leader was already worried about pressure from the U.S. president to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

The chief rabbi of the main Orthodox rabbinical alliance in Europe says that a resurgence of anti-Semitism on the continent “poses an existential threat to the Jewish community.”
The warning by Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmit was sounded as the Conference of European Rabbis awarded the Moshe Rosen Award on Thursday in Rome to the founder of the Catholic charity Sant’Egidio, Andrea Riccardi.

HaGaon HaRav Shimon Ba’adani Shlita, a member of the Shas Moetzas Chachmei HaTorah, has been hospitalized in Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital.
Rav Ba’adani, 91, was taken to the hospital on Thursday morning complaining of weakness and foot pain.

President Donald Trump’s boast of building part of the border wall in Colorado is garnering attention in the state, including from the state’s governor, Democrat Jared Polis.
Trump was speaking Wednesday to an audience in Pennsylvania when he included Colorado in a list of states where the border wall is being constructed, along with New Mexico and Texas.

The Av Beis Din of Zurich, Switzerland, Hagaon HaRav Shaul Breisch, was hospitalized on Wednesday and is in very serious condition. Rav Breisch is one of the leading poskim in Europe as well as in Switzerland.

An American Yeshiva Bochur was moderately injured on Wednesday after he jumped into a pool in the National Park of Ein Prat. The boy was evacuated to the hospital by helicopter while he was suffering from a head wound.

Once again, the fire department responded to the streets of Jerusalem’s Meah Shearim neighborhood to remove a Palestinian flag that was flying, presumably placed by residents.
Firemen succeeded in removing the flag without incident.
