Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan held an assessment of the situation following the wave of fires at the emergency and rescue forces headquarters in Tel Hadid.
“We have appealed to many countries,” Netanyahu said. “Aid has arrived from Greece, Croatia, Italy, Egypt and Cyprus and we very much appreciate it. I would like to thank my friend the Egyptian president, Sisi, for sending two helicopters.”

Pete Buttigieg told a group of influential liberal Jewish leaders on Thursday that the United States should guide Israel’s government away from steps that he says are harmful to both the U.S. and Israel, and said the Trump administration’s actions on Jerusalem and the Golan Heights amount to the U.S. intervening in Israel’s domestic politics.
The Democratic presidential candidate also pushed back on the Republican argument that Jews who are concerned about the rising tide of anti-Semitism should flee the Democratic Party and vote for GOP politicians. He said that “fighting anti-Semitism, like fighting all forms of hate, must be a bipartisan cause,” multiple individuals who were in the room for his remarks tell NBC News.

Theresa May announced Friday that she will resign as her party’s leader on June 7 and make way for a new British prime minister later this summer.
May became the leader of Britain after the June 2016 referendum when the country voted to leave the European Union. Brexit was her No. 1 job, and she failed to deliver it.
Speaking at the lectern in front of the official residence at 10 Downing Street, May said she had “done my best” to make a success of Brexit but had failed to sway members of Parliament to back her deal. She told Britons that compromise was not a dirty word.

Rav Meir ben Baruch, the Maharam MiRottenberg, teacher of the Rosh, (1215-1293). In 1286, Rudolf of Germany wanted to institute a new tax on the Jews of Germany. The Jews objected to this tax.
The Maharam decided to leave Germany, but on the 4th of Tamuz, he was kidnapped by the Bishop of Bazil and handed over to the Emperor, who held Rav Meir captive in the Tower of Enzisheim in Alsace. Rav Meir composed “Shaali S’-rufa B’esh,” which is included in the kinos of Tisha B’Av. He was niftar in the prison and wasn’t properly buried until 4 Adar in 1307.

Jeff Seidel is a left-hander who cheerfully admits to having a terrible sense of direction. “It’s the worst,” he says with a grin. “I get lost coming out of the shower.”
But if there’s one way the man’s sense of direction is unerring it’s when it comes to making sure that the next generation receives its inheritance: the gift of a Jewish identity and belonging strong enough to transform lives, communities, and ultimately, the Jewish future. And he’s applying every ounce of his considerable energies to see to it that they have the tools and support they need to do just that.
