Israeli President Isaac Herzog expressed his gratitude to President Donald Trump after the United States launched airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
“In the pages of human history, this is a moment when the principles of liberty, responsibility, and security have triumphed. A decisive moment between the axis of terror and evil and the axis of hope,” he stated.
Herzog continued by praising the operation and its broader implications: “Thank you, President Donald Trump. Thank you, United States of America. This brave step serves the security and safety of the entire free world. I hope it will lead to a better future for the Middle East — and help advance the urgent release of our hostages held in captivity in Gaza,” he said.

In an overnight operation, IDF and Shin Bet forces recovered the bodies of three slain hostages from the Gaza Strip: Yonatan Samerano, H’yd, Staff Sgt. Shay Levinson, H’yd, and Ofra Keidar, H’yd. Keidar, 71, was brutally murdered, and her body was abducted from her home in Kibbutz Be’eri, where she lived with her husband, Shmuel Keidar, H’yd, who was also murdered on October 7. The couple was survived by three children and grandchildren. Levinson, H’yd, a tank commander, fell on October 7 while battling Hamas terrorists on the Gaza border, and his body was abducted to Gaza. He was 19 at the time of his death. Samerano, H’yd, was murdered at Be’eri along with two of his friends after they fled from the Nova music festival. His body was abducted by a UN social worker in a UN vehicle.

Following the announcement of Jonathan Samerano’s recovery on what would have been his 23rd Hebrew birthday, the IDF has now confirmed that the bodies of two additional hostages—Ofra Keidar, 71, and Staff Sgt. Shay Levinson, 19—were also recovered from Gaza. Keidar was abducted from Kibbutz Be’eri, and Levinson was killed near the Nova festival on October 7th. All three were brought back to Israel in a joint IDF and Shin Bet operation.

Jonathan Samerano, who was murdered and taken hostage during the October 7th Hamas massacre after fleeing to Kibbutz Be’eri, was recovered from Gaza, his father announced. The heartbreaking discovery came on what would have been his 23rd Hebrew birthday. The IDF has not yet released details about the recovery operation.

Amid the deaths, injuries, and destruction in Israel, incredible nissim occur daily as Iran continues to fire barrages of ballistic missiles with powerful explosive warheads at the Jewish people. Yet another incredible neis occurred on Sunday morning in Haifa to a Belzer family, who live in an old building that lacks not only safe rooms (mamadim) in the individual apartments but also has no communal bomb shelter, Kikar H’Shabbat reported. While sirens blared in other parts of Israel at about 7:45 a.m., no sirens sounded in Haifa.

Their home was destroyed, but Bichasdei Hashem, this family is alive.

The Trump administration is preparing for the possibility of an Iranian response in the coming days, with two security officials and a White House senior official telling NBC News that the next 48 hours are considered especially critical. According to the sources, it is unclear whether Iran will choose to strike American targets overseas, within U.S. territory or both. Two sources familiar with military planning reported earlier this week that Iran has contingency plans to attack American bases and assets in the Middle East if necessary, although no signs of immediate preparations have been detected at this stage.

After the US attacked nuclear facilities in Iran, Tehran appealed to the UN Security Council demanding an emergency meeting. “The US and Israel are responsible for the illegal attack on nuclear facilities intended for peaceful purposes. We call for an emergency meeting of the Security Council to discuss this illegal act and take action to condemn it.”

BREAKING: The IAF announces that warplanes have begun a series of strikes toward military targets in western Iran. Additionally, this morning, the IAF struck missile launchers ready to launch toward Israel, soldiers in the Iranian Armed Forces, and swiftly neutralized the launchers that launched missiles toward Israeli territory a short while ago.

Five hours after the United States announced the destruction of Iranian nuclear sites, Iran launched two missile salvos targeting Israel – the first such attack in more than 30 hours. A total of at least 27 missiles were fired in the attack, with impacts recorded in Haifa and across central Israel. According to IDF assessments, the first barrage consisted of 22 missiles, followed by a second with five more. Following the attack, Magen David Adom teams are actively treating and transporting victims. 16 people have been rushed to hospitals, including a man in his 30s who is in moderate condition with shrapnel wounds to his upper body. The remaining victims have minor injuries such as bruises. Rescue crews are still searching for any additional casualties.
