Six of the Group of Seven leaders are trying on the final day of their summit Tuesday to show the wealthy nations’ club still has the clout to shape world events despite the early departure of U.S. President Donald Trump. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and his counterparts from the U.K., France, Germany, Italy and Japan will be joined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO chief Mark Rutte to discuss Russia’s relentless war on its neighbor. World leaders had gathered in Canada with the specific goal of helping to defuse a series of pressure points, only to be disrupted by a showdown over Iran’s nuclear program that could escalate in dangerous and uncontrollable ways.

An overnight Russian missile and drone bombardment of Ukraine killed 15 people and injured 156, local officials said Tuesday, with the main barrage demolishing a nine-story apartment building in one of the deadliest attacks on Kyiv in recent months. At least 14 people were killed as explosions echoed across the Ukrainian capital for almost nine hours, Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko said, destroying dozens of apartments. Russia fired more than 440 drones and 32 missiles, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, calling the Kyiv attack “one of the most terrifying strikes” on the capital. Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said 139 people were injured in Kyiv. Mayor Vitalii Klitschko announced that Wednesday would be an official day of mourning.

Members of Congress will attend emergency briefings this week after the killing of a Minnesota state lawmaker brought renewed fears — and stoked existing partisan tensions — over the security of federal lawmakers when in Washington and at home. The suspect in the attack had dozens of federal lawmakers listed in his writings, besides the state lawmakers and others he’s accused of targeting. The man is accused of shooting and killing former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, in their home early Saturday in the northern Minneapolis suburbs and wounding another lawmaker and his wife at their home.

If the U.S. decides to support Israel more directly in its attack on Iran, one option for Washington would be to provide the “bunker-buster” bombs believed necessary to significantly damage the Fordo nuclear fuel enrichment plant, built deeply into a mountain. Such a bomb would have to be dropped from an American aircraft, which could have wide-ranging ramifications, including jeopardizing any chance of Iran engaging in Trump’s desired talks on its nuclear program. Israeli officials have also suggested that there are other options for it to attack Fordo as it seeks to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities. But aside from a commando attack on the ground or a nuclear strike, the bunker buster bomb seems the most likely option. What is the bunker-buster bomb?

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a major step in response to the growing hostilities between Iran and Israel, confirming that additional American defense systems were being dispatched to the Middle East.
“Protecting US forces is our top priority, and these deployments are intended to strengthen our defensive posture in the region,” Hegseth wrote in a message shared on X.
Although he did not reveal the specifics of the military reinforcements, two American officials told Reuters that the Pentagon had relocated a large number of aerial refueling planes to Europe. This move was described as part of a strategy to provide President Donald Trump with a range of military options as the situation in the Middle East grows more volatile.

As Israel continues its fight in Operation Am K’Lavi, a special atzeres tefillah was held Monday evening at the Kosel, organized by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. The emotionally charged event featured the sounding of shofaros and trumpets, invoking a segulah for victory against Israel’s enemies.

Two of the four victims murdered by an Iranian missile strike on an apartment building in Petach Tikvah early Monday morning have been identified as Yaakov and Dasi Belo, H’yd. Their deaths were announced by their son, Ofir Belo. “With great sorrow and complete shock, we announce the murder of our father and mother, the beloved and dear Yaakov and Dasi Belo, by a direct missile hit on their home,” he wrote. “Details on the time of the levaya will be announced later.” The couple was killed in their reinforced room (“mamad”) when a missile with a heavy warhead hit the wall between two safe rooms. Two others at the site were killed while outside protected spaces—one of them on the floor above and the second in a neighboring building—as a result of the shockwave.

Israel deployed a newly developed air defense mechanism, named “Barak Magen” – Hebrew for “lightning shield” – successfully neutralizing a number of Iranian drones in its first operational use.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), eight Iranian drones were brought down by the Israeli Navy using both the “Barak Magen” and a long-range air defense (LRAD) interceptor system. The interceptions were carried out from aboard a Sa’ar 6-class missile corvette.
John Hannah, a senior fellow at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) and co-author of a recent report detailing Israel’s response to two major Iranian missile barrages in 2024, told Fox News Digital that the system represents a major upgrade to Israel’s naval defense capability.

The past few days in Israel have been nothing short of devastating. A barrage of hypersonic missiles, explosive-laden drones, and relentless rocket fire launched by Iran and its proxies has rained down on cities across the country, leaving destruction, trauma, and heartbreak in its wake. From the northern border to the heart of Tel Aviv, no community has been spared. In one of the most heartbreaking incidents, an entire Arab Israeli family — including young children — was killed in the north. In central Israel, direct hits on residential buildings and public spaces left over 100 injured and at least 9 civilians dead, among them three children aged just 10, 13, and 18. More than 300 homes and buildings have been reported damaged or destroyed.

US President Donald Trump said that he isn’t looking for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran but wants a “real end” to Iran’s nuclear program. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One shortly after midnight, Trump said, “I didn’t say I was looking for a ceasefire,” he said. “I want a real end—with Iran giving up entirely.” Senior White House reporter for CBS News Jennifer Jacobs wrote on X: “Iran is ‘very close’ to a nuclear weapon, Trump said. ‘I don’t care what she said I think they were very close to having them,’ Trump told us on AF1 when asked about Tulsi Gabbard testimony in March.” “I asked him about efforts to help Americans leave the region, with commercial airspace closed, and he said admin ‘working on that.

Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter said that the world “should expect a surprise” in an interview with Lynsay Keith on Merit TV on Tuesday. In the interview, Leiter said, “The world will understand how determined we are about stopping Iran’s capabilities when it witnesses a surprise on the night between Thursday and Friday. When the dust settles, they will understand that the Hezbollah beeper operation will pale in comparison.” He added that Israel’s ultimate goal is to destroy all of Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities. “We’re progressing ahead of schedule,” he added. It is possible that Leiter is hinting to the possibility of the US joining the war against Iran. On Tuesday, the U.S.

An Iranian missile struck the ALEH rehabilitation center in the Pardes Katz neighborhood of Bnei Brak for severely disabled children and teens in the pre-dawn hours of Monday morning, collapsing parts of the building and destroying therapy rooms and equipment. Tragically, Avraham Cohen, H’yd, 80, who lived in a neighboring building, was killed by the blast, and 21 people were injured. At the same time, it was an incredible neis that more people weren’t killed. Although the ALEH campus has a public bomb shelter, it was locked that night, and nearby residents turned to other bomb shelters, saving them from the building collapse. Additionally, ALEH is located between tall residential buildings with hundreds of residents.
