Striking century-old ketubah illustrated in bright colors in conspicuous Persian style. This ketubah is written on 5 sides and bound as a leaflet rather than on a single large leaf as is customary.

Each leaf of the ketubah is encased in a double border and adorned with geometric shapes and decorative leaves. The inner border features elliptical shapes inside rectangular borders containing the text of the ketubah written in classical Persian script, along with the signatures of the chassan and the witnesses.

A complete handwritten and autographed letter by Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, the Steipler, brother-in-law of the Chazon Ish and father of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, of blessed memory.

The Jewish community of Chicago had consulted with the Steipler regarding efforts to bring back Rabbi Chaim Kreiswirth, the Gaavad of Antwerp, to serve once again as Rav in their community. (Rabbi Kreiswirth had taught at Beis Medrash LeTorah in Skokie, Chicago not long before the writing of this letter.)

The glosses were written across different periods, as evidenced by the variation in ink color.
The Rabbanim of Tzfas, led by Rabbi Shmuel Heller, wrote regarding these glosses: “And here [in Tzfas] were the four volumes of Shulchan Aruch through which the aforementioned author learned, and on their margins he inscribed in his holy handwriting insightful notes to clarify the plain meaning and halacha, with great sharpness.”

At the beginning of the siddur appears his approbation, where he writes: “Said Ephraim… it is from my hand that this siddur, with the commentary of the Ra’avan, has come to print.” Later, he requests that the siddur not be reprinted without his permission, in accordance with accepted practice.

Rabbi Shemaria of Hrymailiv, a disciple of Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margulies, also refers in his work Iyun Tefillah to the “siddur printed with the commentary of the Ra’avan, of blessed memory, which my teacher printed in Ostroh…”

Autographed letter by Rabbi Chaim HaLevi Soloveitchik of Brisk, one of the foremost Torah giants of recent generations.

The letter was sent to to Rabbi Shabsi Wallach, Av Beis Din of Rozinay, “renowned for his Torah and fear of Heaven, ” requesting that he assist to the fullest extent possible the emissary of Yeshivas Ohr Chadash of Jerusalem who had arrived in his town.

“A beautiful and exceptional discourse from Rabbi Yehudah ben Bezalel” –  the famed Maharal of Prague.
This drush was delivered in honor of Shabbos HaGadol in the year 1589. In it, the Maharal masterfully weaves together many themes from all parts of the Torah. He does this according to the four methods of Torah study – pshat, remez, drush and sod – known by the acronym ‘Pardes.’ The Maharal concludes his drasha with a focus on the subject of the sukkah and the Arba Minim!
