A Miami man was arrested Tuesday after police said he made threatening phone calls to a Miami Beach bagel store, targeting the business because its owners are Jewish.
According to the arrest report, Jorge Mateo Rucinque, 26, made several calls on Monday to Bagel Time Cafe on the 3900 block of Alton Road.

The FBI has more than 850 open investigations into domestic terrorism across the country, and the threat continues to grow, top counterterrorism officials said Wednesday.
FBI, Justice Department and Homeland Security officials gave testimony before a congressional committee on homegrown hate and violence.

On Tuesday night, a huge memorial was held with the participation of more than 1,000 chareidim in memory of the fallen IDF soldiers. MK Yaakov Margi, on behalf of the Shas faction that participated in the event, said that “this is a historic day and hence there is no turning back.” The public read Mishnayos and Tehillim in memory of the fallen, and Kaddish was said.

In Kar Etzion on Wednesday a memorial ceremony was held near Kfar Etzion, attended by Shas Chairman Minister Aryeh Deri, Etzion Brigade Commander Colonel David Shapira and Gush Etzion Regional Council Chairman Shlomo Neeman, with the participation of bereaved families and thousands of others.

Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman on Wednesday morning participated in the Remembrance Day memorial in the Kiryat Gat cemetery.
Litzman placed a wreath as is customary for ministers, and then recited a perek Tehillim in memory of the fallen, then speaking as a representative of the government.

The Health Department today served closure orders to “Simche Kinder” located in Williamsburg at 812 Myrtle Ave. There are 77 children enrolled in this school.
The Health Dept says they did this because “this center repeatedly failed to comply with an Order of the Health Commissioner in response to the current measles outbreak”.

President Donald Trump ordered new sanctions on Iran Wednesday, just days after the U.S. dispatched an aircraft carrier and B-52 bombers to the Persian Gulf over what it described as a new threat from Tehran .
