Eviation Aircraft Ltd., an Israeli aviation company, displayed the Eviation Alice, an entirely electric commuter plane, at the Paris Air Show this week.
The Alice, which can seat nine passengers and two pilots, can fly at 273 miles per hour for up to 621 miles on one battery charge, at a cost of $200 per hour of flight. The battery comprises 65% of the plane’s weight. The plane’s unusual and modern look, which Eviation CEO Omar Bar-Yohay described as “whale-shaped,” is due to its aerodynamic efficiency.

A panel of federal appeals court judges ruled on Thursday that a Trump administration family planning “gag rule” that could cut as much as $60 million in Title X funds from Planned Parenthood could go into effect immediately.
Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar called the decision “a major step toward the Trump administration being able to ensure that all Title X projects . . . do not support abortion as a method of family planning.”
But Leana Wen, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, called the news “devastating” for the millions of women who rely on Title X for services such as cancer screenings, HIV tests and birth control, and said the organization would immediately appeal.

Police in London were called to settle an argument between a group of chassidim angry at  two smartphone owners.
According to the report, the police were told that the men were carrying undercover weapons – only to find out that the weapons they were referring to were smartphones.
The police officers were visibly annoyed at being called for a petty argument, with one exasperated officer telling the disputants, “There are people who are actually being hurt outside and we’re being called here for a disagreement.”

A former top aide to President Donald Trump told House investigators that officials on the 2016 campaign felt “relief” when WikiLeaks released hacked information damaging to rival Hillary Clinton, reaffirming Robert Mueller’s conclusion that Trump associates welcomed Russia’s interference in the election.
During a closed-door interview with the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Hope Hicks defended the Trump campaign’s use of private Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign emails that were hacked by Russia, then were released by WikiLeaks. Hicks, a close confidante of the president who was mentioned more than 180 times in the Mueller report, argued that the emails were “publicly available information.”

The Senate is expected to approve tough new sanctions against North Korea with bipartisan legislation that would cut off from the U.S. banking system any person or entity doing business with the hermit kingdom, according to the measure’s authors.
The sanctions, advanced by Sens. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., and Patrick Toomey, R-Pa., as an amendment to the Senate’s annual defense bill, have the backing of Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., the two lawmakers said Thursday. Such an endorsement all but guarantees the full Senate will approve the measure, which is designed to isolate North Korea from its financial allies and force leader Kim Jong Un to abandon his nuclear weapons program.

The strike was called off but the Times reported that it was unclear if Trump changed his mind or the administration changed its strategy on Iran.

The Sfas Emes elaborates Rashi’s words that not only in the actual act of lighting but in the feelings of passion and fervor for the mitzvah Aaron  was always consistent. The question that comes to  mind  is how is it possible to be consistent on an every day  level with feelings and passion?
