The Trump administration has imposed a strict deadline for New York Governor Kathy Hochul to dismantle the congestion pricing program, warning that failure to comply could result in the loss of certain federal funds.
The warning comes amid newly released data showing an uptick in traffic within the congestion zone since the program began.
According to the most recent figures from the MTA, while 410,000 vehicles were recorded entering the zone on its launch day, that figure surged to over 524,000 by May 10.

The assault on the Torah world shows no signs of slowing. In a move drawing fierce backlash, Israel’s Attorney General has decided to penalize the children of yungeleit who are considered draft-dodgers by revoking their previously granted priority status in admissions to government-supervised daycare centers, where space is already extremely limited.
According to a report by Liel Kaiser on Kan News, this new directive would effectively relegate these children to the bottom of the list for admission, placing them at a severe disadvantage due to the state’s classification of their fathers as “lawbreakers.”

American intelligence sources have reportedly uncovered indications that Israel is actively making preparations for a potential offensive targeting Iranian nuclear sites, CNN reported Tuesday, citing several officials within the U.S. government.
If carried out, such a military operation by Israel would diverge sharply from President Donald Trump’s current emphasis on diplomatic negotiations with Tehran, and could provoke a broader conflict across the Middle East, the officials cautioned.
Though no definitive green light has been given by Israel’s leadership, internal U.S. government assessments remain divided over whether Israel is truly on the brink of launching a strike.

Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, who is running for mayor, is facing sharp backlash over comments accusing New York lawmakers of using taxpayer funds for trips to Israel—a claim critics are calling both false and antisemitic.
Jewish leaders say the Queens Assemblyman’s remarks suggest Jewish politicians are abusing public money to favor Israel, fueling age-old antisemitic narratives.
“The danger that Mamdani poses to Jewish freedom in New York City is palpable,” said Queens Councilman Rory Lancman, who also serves as senior counsel at the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law.

Last week, the Ramada Hotel in Yerushalayim hosted the annual OU Kashrus Conference, an event that has grown into one of the most prominent gatherings in the global kashrus world. The Israel Defense Forces stand ready to broaden their operations inside the Gaza Strip if Hamas continues to refuse the release of Israeli hostages, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir declared in a video address on Tuesday.
His message followed an on-the-ground assessment and military tour in Gaza as part of Israel’s latest large-scale offensive, named “Gideon’s Chariots.” The campaign aims to deal a powerful blow to Hamas, capture strategic territory, and push the Palestinian population from northern Gaza toward the south.
This latest military escalation comes as ceasefire and hostage negotiations resume in Qatar. The talks restarted after the recent freeing of Edan Alexander, a dual American-Israeli hostage.
