Several frum yeshiva students from Skokie, Illinois made a tremendous kiddush hashem Zev Goldstein and several other boys were walking outside the yeshiva on Thursday morning when they noticed dollar bills in the sum of tens of thousands of dollars blanketing the ground. Coby Kamish, one of the boys who saw the money, attempted to return it to a man they saw running and picking up bills, but the man told them to “keep it.” It turns out that the man was not the owner of said money but was rather pocketing it for himself. Looking across the road, the boys noticed an armored truck at a Bank of America ATM, and realized that the bank notes had somehow escaped the confines of the vehicle and spilled out, possibly due to very high winds in the area.

Agudath Israel of America shared a statement from the Conference of Synagogue Rabbonim of Agudath Israel. It has come to our attention that the so called “International Beit Din” (IBD) has issued multiple heteirim for married women to remarry without a get, utilizing various methods and arguments. Gedolei Haposkim and multitudes of Rabbonim from across the spectrum have publicly decried the actions of the IBD and claim that their heteirim have no merit. The Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah and Conference of Synagogue Rabbonim of Agudas Yisrael join them in protest.

The CEO of Chevrah Hatzolah, Rabbi Yechiel Kalish, was invited to speak at NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s press conference today, in which he urged people to get vaccinated and test for Covid before traveling and gathering. Introducing the Hatzolah CEO, Mayor de Blasio applauded the organization for the incredible work they have done throughout the Covid pandemic. “One of the great stories of the fight against Covid has been what community organizations have done to reach people,” de Blasio said.

HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky and HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein wrote a sharply worded letter against the dayanim who signed an unprecedented p’sak allowing an agunah to remarry by nullifying her kiddushin on the basis of a psychological diagnosis given many years after the marriage.

Hundreds of religious people came to the Kosel on Friday morning for Tefillas Shacharis of Rosh Chodesh Kislev to protest the planned provocation of Reform Labor MK Gilad Kariv and the Women of the Wall group. Dozens of religious MKs were planning on physically blocking Kariv from repeating what he did last month – using his immunity to smuggle a Sefer Torah into the women’s section of the Kosel and reading it in a mixed group.

Over 70 Lev Tahor members have been held in a building near Istanbul Airport in Turkey since Tuesday morning, where they were forced to fly by Iraqi officials from Erbil Airport in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, B’Chadrei Chareidim reported. ֶThe Lev Tahor group had managed to successfully leave Guatemala and reach Iraq in an attempt to eventually enter Iran but were detained by Iraqi officials and forced to leave the country. An Iraqi official told B’Chadrei: “We don’t want [Lev Tahor] here. They already caused trouble in Guatemala, Canada, the US and Mexico and there are unpleasant stories about them. We’re not looking for people like that, we know they’ll cause trouble here also.

One week ago, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett approved a plan which will allow vaccinated and recovered tourists into the country as of November 1. Much to our dismay, even as November nears, many details of the new plan have not yet been totally finalized. Although a recommendation from the Health Ministry was issued today, it has not yet been accepted by Misrad HaPnim or approved by the Corona Cabinet. Even if it will be implemented, many questions remain unanswered, some of them with serious ramifications for travelers. The following issues remain unclear at this time: Will documentation of vaccination/recovery need to be digitally verifiable, as in the European Union?

Hagaon HaRav Uren Reich, Rosh Yeshiva of Ohr Zecharia in Lakewood (Woodlake) has written a letter regarding the upcoming gubernatorial election in New Jersey. The Rosh Yeshiva explains in a clearly written letter why he has instructed his Talmidim to vote for Governor Phil Murphy. “The whole world was thrown into turmoil from COVID…. and Lakewood has enjoyed unequaled freedom, our Mosdos Hachinuch have been unhampered and life has been close tom normal. This is not true about NY, Toronto, London, Yerushalayim or Bnei Brak. Mr. Murphy could have made our lives really miserable, and Bichasdei Hashem the Lev Melochim etc was favorable towards us….” “To not demonstrate our Hakoras hatov would be a Chillul Hashem”, Rav Reich writes. Conservative activist group Project Veritas, has now obtained hidden recordings of a campaign staffer saying that that NJ Governor Phil Murphy is going to impose vaccine mandates after the election. Both the political aides filmed – Wendy Martinez, a consultant hired to work on Murphy’s campaign, and Matthew Urquijo, manager of a coordinated campaign called Forward 2021 funded by the New Jersey Democratic State Committee – said Murphy is waiting to act to avoid angering swing voters. “He [Murphy] is going to do it [COVID vaccine mandate], but he couldn’t do it before the elections. Because of the independents and the undecided.” Martinez noted that independent and undecided voters would not pull the lever for Murphy if he rolled out the mandate before the election.
