Quizzed by NBC, Trump’s former Attorney General Bill Barr expressed uncertainty about whether he would cast his vote for his former boss, Donald Trump, or President Joe Biden in the general election. Despite serving under Trump’s administration, Barr made it clear that he opposes Trump for the GOP nomination. He went on to criticize the former president for his actions following the 2020 presidential race, condemning Trump’s behavior as “reckless” and referring to him as a “consummate narcissist.” When questioned about his voting intentions in the general election if the candidates were the same as in 2020, Barr humorously replied, “I’ll jump off that bridge when I get to it,” indicating his reluctance to make a decision at this point.

For the past number of years, I had been unable to spend my summers in the Catskills, with work constraints forcing me to remain in the city. This year, for the first time in probably 25 years, I’m back in the Catskills, enjoying the relatively breezy weather. I’m happily stunned by the amenities that now exist in the once-backwards Catskills, but one thing seriously bothers me. I haven’t done a scientific review of it, but it seems to me that many grocery store do not have prices listed! I’m not a multi-millionaire, and even if I were, I imagine I’d be careful about my spending. And when I or my wife have to go grocery shopping, we like checking the prices to inform us whether to purchase an item, and to ensure we know what the bill will be at the register.

A heated exchange between Mayor Eric Adams and a constituent unfolded at a community conversation event held at Gregorio Luperon High School for Science and Mathematics in Washington Heights. The confrontation stemmed from criticism of the city’s new rent increase rules, with the mayor likening the woman’s behavior to that of a plantation owner. In video footage captured during the meeting, the woman interrupted Adams to accuse him of “raising the rent.” The mayor clarified that he does not have control over the Rent Guidelines Board, which recently faced backlash for approving rent hikes of up to 6 percent on New York City’s one million rent-stabilized apartments.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told members of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the US held indirect talks with Iran on a “mini-agreement” that Israel can live with, Israeli media outlets reported on Tuesday. “This isn’t the [2015) nuclear deal we’re familiar with,” Netanyahu was reported as saying during a closed meeting of the top-level committee this week. Walla News reported Netanyahu as saying that the “understanding” between the two countries includes a commitment from Iran not to enrich uranium over 60% purity in exchange for the US releasing billions of dollars of frozen Iranian funds. In addition, Iran and US will carry out a prisoner swap deal.

Travelers headed for the Catskills will have to reprogram their navigational apps this summer for a new Mincha location, with the New York State Thruway’s Sloatsburg rest stop one of 27 service areas slated for extensive renovations in the coming months. Askanim were notified of the Thruway construction before Pesach and worked closely with officials for weeks to find a temporary home for the Tefilas Mordche Mincha Area, which has been based out of the Sloatsburg rest-stop for years. Under an agreement reached with the Town of Ramapo, the Mincha Area will open for the season on June 22nd at 120 Torne Valley Road in Hillburn, NY., just minutes from the Thruway’s Exit 15 A.

During a recent encounter in the White House, President Joe Biden responded with a smile, chuckle, and evasive behavior when questioned about allegations of bribery during his time as Vice President. As he left an event with US diplomats in the White House East room, a reporter asked Biden if there were tapes that captured him accepting bribes. Instead of providing a direct answer, Biden awkwardly grinned, chuckled to himself, and continued walking away without addressing the question.
