Five IDF soldiers were tragically killed today in intense battles in the northern Gaza Strip, the military announced. An IDF investigation has determined that six hostages abducted by Hamas were likely executed by their captors amid an airstrike on a Hamas tunnel in Khan Younis, Gaza. As YWN reported at the time, the bodies of the hostages were recovered on August 20, over three months after their deaths. YWN had reported at the time that they had been executed as their bodies were found riddled with bullets, and the IDF is releasing confirmed details now. The victims, identified as Alex Dancyg, 75, Yagev Buchshtav, 35, Chaim Peri, 79, Yoram Metzger, 80, Nadav Popplewell, 51, and Avraham Munder, 78, were taken hostage during Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Kash Patel, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the FBI, was recently informed by the bureau that he had been targeted in a cyberattack by Iranian hackers, according to a report by CNN on Tuesday that also said the hackers may have gained access to some of Patel’s communications during the breach. The incident is part of a broader pattern of Iranian hacking efforts aimed at Trump associates. In September, the Justice Department charged three members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for a series of cyberattacks targeting Trump campaign staffers during the 2020 presidential election.

Two people were killed after a rocket strike in Nahariya, a northern coastal city, a short while ago. Magen David Adom responded and found two victims in critical condition. Sadly, they were both Niftar a short while later. MDA EMT Dor Vaknin said that this was a warehouse hit by a rocket. Vaknin says “we arrived quickly at the scene, where there was significant destruction and an active fire. We conducted medical assessments on two men who were lying unconscious and suffering from severe injuries. Unfortunately, their injuries were too severe, and after our assessments, we had to pronounce both of them deceased.” The IDF reports that 10 rockets were launched in the attack, with some intercepted and others hitting populated areas or open spaces in the Western Galilee.

Amid fears in Israel of an impending Iranian-Hezbollah attack, thousands of Jews visited the Kosel on Tisha B’Av to mourn the Churban at the site of the Beis Hamikdash. The crowds began flocking to the site on Monday night, continuing into the wee hours of the night and continuing throughout the day on Tuesday. There was a surge of visitors on Tuesday evening ahead of the end of the fast as tefillos and a call for achdus Yisrael were held with the participation of Rabbanim, public figures, relatives of hostages and wounded IDF soldiers. The Rav of the Kosel, HaRav Shmuel Rabinowitz, began the tefillah by reciting Tehillim and Shema Yisrael and Ol Malchus Shamayim in light of the precarious situation of Am Yisrael.

Pro-Hamas protestors gathered outside the White House on Saturday after the IDF had the gall to rescue four civilian hostages being held by a genocidal terrorist group. According to the ANSWER coalition, one of the organizers of the protest, some 75,000 people participated in the protest, although that number appears to be inflated – not unlike their Hamas handlers’ death toll counts in the Gaza Strip. The protest included chants calling on Hamas to “kill another soldier now” and for Hezbollah to “kill another Zionist now.” One protestor, standing with others on a statue of Thomas Jefferson, was seen waving around a mask of Joe Biden splattered with red paint, symbolizing blood.
