The end of the New York State Legislative session each June is traditionally a frenzy of activity, often with hundreds of bills getting passed, three way deals between the Senate, Assembly and Executive being consummated, and often large omnibus bills consisting of dozens of items combined into one big bill often derisively referred to as the “big ugly”.

Senator Felder and Assemblymember Paulin proposed legislation (S6226/A8146) requiring the NYS Health Department to create a Crohn’s and Colitis identification card. Passed unanimously by the Senate, the bill addresses the difficulty people encounter when exercising their right to access a restroom under the Crohn’s and Colitis Fairness Act by creating and issuing a state ID card to patients.

A vehicle once again decided to take the sidewalk in Boro Park. The latest incident happened on Monday at around noon on 51st Street between 15th and 16th Avenue.
A local resident tells YWN that a vehicle was double-parked during alternate side of the street parking, and never came back to move his car, blocking the entire street.
